Using the SEAS in Outlook 

 

In this document, you will find step-by-step instructions for using the Covalence Suspicious Email Analysis Service (SEAS) for the following platforms:

 

  • New Outlook for Web and Desktop
  • Outlook Desktop
  • Outlook for Mac

 

 

           

New Outlook for Web and Desktop

 

When you receive a suspicious email, if you don’t see the Covalence icon, click the  button in the preview pane, top right corner.



Click the Apps icon


Click the Covalence SEAS button, a panel will open on the right side of the screen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fill out the SEAS submission form and click Submit. Once submitted, SEAS analyzes the email's content and attachments and inspects it for social engineering and other techniques that may evade traditional spam filters.  

 

            

Outlook Desktop

 

When you receive a suspicious email, click the Covalence button on the Home tab. The SEAS panel will open on the right side of the screen.

 

 

 

Fill out the SEAS submission form and click Submit. Once submitted, SEAS analyzes the email's content and attachments and inspects it for social engineering and other techniques that may evade traditional spam filters.  

 

 

Outlook for Mac

 

When you receive a suspicious email, click the Covalence button on the Home tab. The SEAS panel will open on the right side of the screen.

 

 

 

Fill out the SEAS submission form and click Submit. Once submitted, SEAS analyzes the email's content and attachments and inspects it for social engineering and other techniques that may evade traditional spam filters.  

 

            

After the email is analyzed, you will receive an email with the results and the next steps. You may notice that the email is co-branded by TELUS. Covalence is part of the cybersecurity Managed Detection and Response service we receive from TELUS.
